THINGS TO DO IN TEMISKAMING...QUILT BLOCK TOUR
In anticipation of the Temiskaming IPM from September 22 nd to 26 th
2009 , a local group of volunteers have set up the "Quilt Block Project".
This project involves painting individual quilt block patterns on plywood and mounting them on area
buildings and barns. These blocks are intended to provide an interesting scenic tour of the Temiskaming area
and includes local farms and
historic landmarks from north of Englehart to Latchford , and from Belle Vallee to Elk Lake
A map has been printed to guide all visitors along the route. It includes the name of the Quilt pattern,
the names of the owners of the property, as well as a brief history of each of the 96 properties.
The project also expanded to include smaller versions of blocks to be used in beautifying gardens, lawns,
or homes.
Definitely plan on touring this beautiful, scenic part of Ontario,
while enjoying the activities at the Plowing Match!
